A metal bar moves to the right in a magnetic field pointing
out of the paper, as shown in the figure below.
What happens?
- The bar feels a force to the right, causing it to accelerate to the
right.
- Electrons in the bar feel a force upward and collect at the top
of the bar, leaving the bottom of the bar with a net positive charge.
- It's just a bar moving to the right, dude.
