“Compactly Determined Spaces”
Abstract: A topological space Y is called compactly determined, if for every point y in Y and
every dense subset X of Y there exists a subset K of X whose closure in Y is compact and
contains y. I will address some naturally arising questions, like: are there any such spaces,
are there many, is the property of being compactly-determined inherited, preserved by
certain mappings, products, etc. The level of exposition should be accessible to advanced
undergraduates.
EVERYONE WELCOME
