TETRAHEDRAL GEOMETRY/TOPOLOGY SEMINAR

         ANNOUNCEMENT

DATE:              Friday, November 30, 2007

LOCATION:    Hempfield High School, Room 213 (directions at http://www.millersville.edu/~tgts/)

followed by dinner at a place to be determined.

4:30 TALK:      Angela Gibney, University of Pennsylvania

Title: What are the geometric fibrations of the moduli space of curves?

Abstract: In this talk I will introduce the moduli space \overline{M}_{g,n} whose points

correspond to isomorphism classes of (stable) curves of genus g having n marked points.

I'll frame an open problem about the space which links the classical study of curves with

                           tools from modern birational geometry.

     EVERYONE WELCOME

PLEASE FORWARD THIS ANNOUNCEMENT TO ANYONE INTERESTED

The Tetrahedral Geometry/Topology Seminar is sponsored jointly by
