“From Topology to Algebra”
In the sixties, J. Stasheff introduced the notion of an A-infinity algebra, which is an algebra whose product is associative up to homotopy. Today, A-infinity structures appear in many areas of mathematics and have many important applications. In this talk we show how contractions can be used to compute A-infinity structures. We apply this technique to compute the A-infinity coalgebra structure on the mod p homology of Eilenberg-Mac Lanespaces.
EVERYONE WELCOME
