“Borsuk-Ulam Theorems for the complement of arrangements”
The classical Borsuk-Ulam theorem provides conditions when an equivariant mapping of a certain sort fails to exist. Combinatorial problems are sometimes formulated by constructing a mapping from a configuration space to a test space with symmetries. If the mapping fails to exist, a coincidence occurs that solves the combinatorial problem. In this talk, I will show a rich source of this type of theorem where the test space is the complement of an arrangement.
